Hotels are very dry....especially in the winter time. There are a couple of quick and easy ways to make you're room more comfortable.
ALWAYS take bottled water to your room. Most hotels soften their water IE: SALT. Buy the water before you settle in for the night (the hotel costs are nearly as expensive as a movie theater). This will also encourage you to stay hydrated.
Next, pull the stopper on the tub. Pull the curtain and run the shower for as long as it takes to fill the tub. Leave the tub full. A) the steam (cooler water in the summer) will put moisture in the air) and B) the water will continue to add humidity to the air. Empty the tub in the morning (of course :))
Hotel rooms run warm. The air conditioning unit tends to kick on. And kick off. Since it is a smaller space, its not as easy to control as your home, and tends to warm up very quickly. One of the ways of keeping your room more comfortable is by keeping the air conditioning unit on cool even in the winter. You can turn back the thermostat dial towards warmer, but keep the ON/OFF knob on cool. This keeps the room from getting too hot.
